Our Story: Building the World's Most Realistic Animatronic Dinosaurs Since 2003
Every great company begins with a simple passion. For Starobotx (Sichuan Starobotx Technology Co., Ltd), that passion started in 2003 in Zigong, Sichuan — a city globally known as the "Dinosaur Hometown" of China. What began as a small workshop of 15 craftsmen has grown into an international leader in animatronic dinosaur design and manufacturing, serving clients in over 40 countries across 6 continents.
This is not just a business story. It is a story about dedication, craftsmanship, and the belief that prehistoric creatures can be brought back to life through the perfect combination of engineering, art, and imagination. Every animatronic dinosaur we create carries the spirit of our team — a team that refuses to compromise on quality, realism, or innovation.
Our Story: From a Small Workshop to Global Leader
In 2003, our founder recognized a unique opportunity. Zigong was already famous for its rich dinosaur fossil discoveries and paleontological heritage, but there was no local company dedicated to creating high-quality, realistic animatronic dinosaurs for the global market. With a team of 15 skilled craftsmen and a small workshop, Starobotx was born.
The early years were challenging. We had limited resources, but unlimited determination. Our first projects were small — a single dinosaur for a local museum, a small exhibition for a shopping mall. But every project was an opportunity to learn, improve, and refine our craft. We studied paleontology, mechanical engineering, and artistic sculpture, combining these disciplines to create dinosaurs that were not only visually stunning but also scientifically accurate.
By 2008, we had completed our first international project — a collection of animatronic dinosaurs for a theme park in Southeast Asia. This was a turning point. It proved that our craftsmanship could compete on the global stage. Over the next decade, we expanded our production facility, invested in advanced technology, and built a team of 120+ professionals including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, industrial designers, sculptors, and paleontology consultants.
Today, Starobotx operates an 8,000㎡ in-house production facility and has completed over 500 projects worldwide. But we have never forgotten our roots. We remain a company built on craftsmanship, passion, and the pursuit of excellence — the same values that guided us in that small workshop over 20 years ago.
Our Vision & Mission
Our Vision
To be the world's most trusted and innovative animatronic dinosaur company, bringing the wonder of prehistoric life to people of all ages, in every corner of the globe. We envision a world where every museum, theme park, and educational institution has access to scientifically accurate, mechanically reliable, and visually breathtaking animatronic dinosaurs that inspire curiosity, learning, and imagination.
Our Mission
Our mission is to push the boundaries of what is possible in animatronic dinosaur design and manufacturing. We achieve this by:
- Combining science and art — Every dinosaur we create is reviewed by paleontologists to ensure scientific accuracy in skeletal proportions, skin texture, and coloration, while our artists bring each creature to life with realistic movement and expression.
- Investing in innovation — We continuously research new materials, motion technologies, and control systems to make our dinosaurs more realistic, more durable, and more energy-efficient.
- Building lasting relationships — We view our clients as partners, not customers. From the first consultation to after-sales support, we are committed to helping our clients succeed.
- Honoring our heritage — We are proud to be from Zigong, the Dinosaur Hometown, and we carry that heritage into every project we undertake.
Our Core Values
Our core values are the foundation of everything we do. They guide our decisions, shape our culture, and define who we are as a company.
Craftsmanship Excellence
We believe that quality is not an act, but a habit. Every animatronic dinosaur we produce undergoes rigorous quality inspection, including mechanical stress testing, electrical safety verification, weatherproof sealing inspection, and 48-hour continuous operation testing. We refuse to deliver anything less than our best.
Scientific Accuracy
We work closely with paleontologists and museum consultants to ensure that every dinosaur we create is scientifically accurate. From the shape of the skull to the texture of the skin, every detail is researched and verified. We believe that educational value is just as important as entertainment value.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
We never settle for "good enough." Our R&D team is constantly exploring new technologies, materials, and techniques to make our dinosaurs more realistic, more durable, and more efficient. We encourage every team member to suggest improvements and share ideas.
Integrity & Transparency
We believe in honest communication with our clients, our suppliers, and our team members. We provide transparent pricing, clear timelines, and honest assessments of what is possible. We do not overpromise or underdeliver.
Teamwork & Respect
Our success is built on the collective effort of our entire team. We respect every individual, regardless of their role, and we believe that the best ideas come from collaboration. We foster an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and inspired to do their best work.
Our Team Culture & Work Environment
At Starobotx, we believe that a great team creates great products. That is why we invest heavily in creating a work environment that is supportive, creative, and inspiring. Our 120+ team members are not just employees — they are craftsmen, engineers, artists, and dreamers who share a common passion for bringing dinosaurs to life.
A Culture of Learning
We encourage continuous learning and professional development. Our team members have access to training programs, workshops, and opportunities to attend industry conferences. We believe that when our team grows, our company grows. Many of our senior engineers and craftsmen have been with us for over 10 years, and their expertise is invaluable.
A Creative Workspace
Our 8,000㎡ production facility is designed to foster creativity and collaboration. We have separate workshops for steel fabrication, mechanical assembly, skin crafting, painting, and quality control, but we also have shared spaces where designers, engineers, and craftsmen can come together to brainstorm and solve problems. We believe that the best ideas happen when people from different disciplines work together.
Work-Life Balance
We understand that our team members have lives outside of work. We strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance, with reasonable working hours, paid vacation, and opportunities for team-building activities. We believe that happy, well-rested team members produce better work.
Celebrating Success Together
When we complete a major project or achieve a milestone, we celebrate together. We believe that recognizing and rewarding hard work is essential for maintaining morale and motivation. From team dinners to annual awards ceremonies, we take the time to acknowledge the contributions of every team member.
